ESG and carbon reporting

Carbon reporting is usually assembled by hand once a year. Collected continuously from the same measured intervals as the energy analysis, the annual report becomes a query.

What does the carbon view show?

Emissions from the verified energy series, with the factor applied and the share of the period that was measured. The saving you claim and the emissions you report come from one set of numbers.

Energy saved × 0.408 kgCO2e per kWh, an illustrative grid factor.

Emissions with the share of the period that was measured.

What makes a figure testable?

Provenance

Every figure traces to the readings it came from, and those to their meter, feed or invoice.

Coverage

The share of the period and boundary that was measured travels with the figure.

Declared factor

Which emissions factor, from whom, which revision, effective when.

Reproducible

Re-running a period gives the same figure; a restatement shows as one, with a reason.

Exportable

The intervals can be handed to an assurance provider without asking us.

Sample data. Two outages are declared, not averaged over.

Boundary and factor are recorded with each figure. A carbon figure is only as complete as the measured coverage behind it: where coverage is too thin, the figure is withheld with the reason.

A missing month is never filled with an average, and a meter that stopped is never a building that used nothing. The method
